As of Efficy 11, you can store large files – bigger than 32 MB and up to 4 GB – in the Efficy database.

That doesn’t mean these files are stored inside the Efficy database; they’re actually located on a file server which can be identical to or different from the Efficy web server.

When a separate, dedicated file server is used, this parameter specifies its root URL.

When the Efficy server also functions as file server, ignore this optional parameter and fill out the related parameter URL instead.

Warning: the web address with the character string .../file/... in it is actually is a “pretty” URL that hides the (complementary) Efficy “brokerservicy.dll. And “pretty” URLs only work when the web site is configured correctly under IIS! Consult the manual Installing Efficy for details.

indicate the folder where the files are stored on the file server (with the parameter FileRepository) and the temporary folder where the uploads get done (with the parameter FileTempUpload).

set the minimal file size of files considered as “big” (with the parameter FileMinSize), set their maximum size (with the parameter FileMaxSize) and adapt IIS to the maximum size.

Complementary step: configure the related clean-up service Large File Maintenance.
